Coach Matthew Mondrawickas’ U13GC301 team finished their summer 2016 season undefeated! Not having a dedicated keeper, all of the girls rotated through the goal, giving up only a single goal in league play. Outstanding teamwork girls! (photo source: Nubia Esparza)

St. Paul Blackhawks U14PR Boys Win Heartland Invitational Tournament in Kansas City
November 10, 2013

The Blackhawks U14 Premier boys won the Heartland Invitational Tournament (HIT) this past week in Kansas City. HIT is a premier showcase of teams from across the region, pulling in State Cup and State Tournament finalists and champions to compete in this Fall classic. The Blackhawk boys faced teams from Iowa, Illinois, and Missouri this weekend and defeated the Iowa State Cup champion Des Moines Menace for a 1-0 nail-biter final that included breakaway and PK saves by goalkeeper William Hagg and a spectacular breakaway goal by forward Brian Medel. The 2013 State Cup finalist and Fair Play Award Winners didn’t earn a single card this weekend and exemplified strong character on and off the pitch. Congratulations to all of the boys for a great effort – as players and gentlemen.
